Similar to an electric motor, the generator or alternator places the same high demands on the bearing such as maximum energy efficiency, high speeds and long service life. One of the ball bearings has to support increased loads due to the belt.

For mild hybrids, there is the special case of the Belt Starter Generator (BSG). This allows you to use additional torque when starting or accelerating. In addition, you reduce the CO2 emissions of your vehicle through the higher efficiency and energy recovery.
