One of the most important megatrends of our time is electromobility. In addition to an electrified main drive, typical applications include e-axles, wheel hub drives and starter generators in so-called mild hybrids.

In the long term, the trend will be driven by falling manufacturing costs for rechargeable batteries and the price advantages of electric power over diesel or gasoline. Depending on the country, environmental legislation is also an important driver of this trend.

The challenge with electrified powertrains is to maximize power density. To do this, you reduce installation space, weight and therefore costs to a minimum. At the same time, you increase the speeds to compensate for the torque advantage of the combustion engines. The right ball bearings are crucial. After all, a speed index n x dm of 1.4 million (mm/min) is no longer a rarity.
